Fiorentina, the verdict on Gudmundsson this week: sentence scheduled for Thursday

It will be a decisive week for Albert Gudmundsson. The Icelandic striker scored against Milan Florentine it has already become central to Raffaele Palladino’s technical project, as expected. Since his arrival, however, one of the issues has been linked to the trial he is undergoing in Iceland for alleged “sexual misconduct”, reopened in recent months.

The date of the sentence. Gudmundsson, as is known, was present in court in Reykjavik during the previous international break, between 12 and 13 September. Now, the time is ripe for a sentence, expected in the next few days. In particular, as reported by FlorenceViolathe sentence should be passed Thursday 10 October in the early afternoon in Italy: specifically, around 12.45pm in Iceland, 2.45pm in Italy.

It goes without saying how anxiously the outcome of the trial is awaited in Florence. The latest rumors from Iceland spoke of the possibility that the matter could be closed, and in any case a possible conviction would not automatically lead to the player’s removal from the field: acquittal – which would also reiterate the verdict issued in the first instance – would to everyone, starting from the person directly involved, greater peace of mind for the future.
