Di Gennaro: “Milan, there needs to be an important signal from the club”

TMW Radio

Antonio Di Gennaroformer footballer and TV commentator, spoke to TMW Radioduring Maracanaof the topics of the day, starting from Fonseca’s future at Milan: “The club is the one in charge, then there are the coach and the players. In this case Fonseca seems alone to me, but he too must have more drive. Pulisic must shoot the penalty and that’s it, then he can’t say ‘Why?’ to the coach. I thought the derby could be the positive spark, it seems to me that they have returned to previous levels and the future prospect is not good. The coach is not protected and does not have control of the locker room.

The club must give input, it must give a signal that Fonseca is their coach. Then obviously he too must take over, but the club must make it clear that it supports Fonseca. He must give some signals after what happened on the pitch in Florence. In Naples there is no need for the club, because Conte will take care of bringing them into line. And then there is also a tactical discussion to be had, because this Milan team concedes two goals per game.”
