Ndombele reborn in Nice: super performance against PSG, like in his time in Lyon

Tanguy Ndombelé is he back? After leaving Tottenham, the goal of the midfielder born in ’96 was to avoid yet another loan, after having experienced 3 consecutive ones: first the return to Lyon, then Napoli (with which he won a Scudetto as a supporting player) and finally at Galatasaray, where he was criticized… for his weight. An affront that the class of 1996 didn’t appreciate and that triggered something in him: in the summer he underwent intense physical training to get back to the top.

Now, Ndombelé is more determined than ever to demonstrate that he still has a lot to give to European football and it is for this reason that he accepted Nice’s offer: the project presented to him by sporting director Florian Maurice “seduced” him and the player he was immediately convinced that he could fully relaunch himself under Franck Haise’s orders, bringing his experience to a young group.

So far, the facts are proving him right: last night, the former French international was one of the great protagonists in his team’s draw against PSG. A majestic performance against the trio formed by Fabian Ruiz, Warren Zaire-Emery: Ndombele won almost all the duels, showed technique and vision of the game. In France they are enthusiastic about this return to the limelight and believe that it could be part of Didier Deschamps’ future choices.
