Juventus-Cagliari 1-1, the report cards: Vlahovic wastes, Douglas Luiz 4. Marin glacial

JUVENTUS-CAGLIARI 1-1
(15′ Vlahovic; 88′ Marin)

Juventus report cards – Edited by Ivan Cardia

By Gregorio 6 – He senses but does not reject the penalty, previously a good reflex and very little work to do.

Savona 6 – Preferred to Danilo, diligent in the defensive phase: also on Luvumbo. Up front, thanks to his team’s tactical approach, you can’t see much. Pay the warning. (From the 70th minute Danilo 6 – He enters to manage, Motta believes, the victory).

Cats 6.5 – Muscles and intensity to lead the Juventus defense. Some more effort on Luvumbo.

Kalulu 6.5 – He takes the role of deputy Bremer and fills it flawlessly. With his speed he closes all the spaces on the Sardinian counterattacks: the only thing left to understand is what led Milan to deprive him of him.

Cambiaso 6 – In the first half he is often the player closest to Vlahovic: his position creates difficulties in reading the opposing team. In the second half he is among those who slip away.

Locatelli 6.5 – It’s the trait d’union of Motta’s eleven: with less defensive tasks, he varies in dialogue with his teammates. Less incisive at the beginning of the second half. (From 62′ McKennie 6 – Half a step behind his partner).

Thuram 6 – Breakwater in front of the defense, called the team’s center of gravity. The naive yellow card received midway through the first half affected the game and the interceptions. (From the 62nd minute Douglas Luiz 4 – It’s difficult to respond worse to the doubts of those who ask why you don’t play. He enters with dignity, but in the end he knocks out Piccoli and ruins Juve’s Sunday).

Conceiçao 5.5 – Debut as a starter, under the eyes of father Sergio, after having been decisive during the course of the game. This time he doesn’t succeed, but his jerks are electric shocks scattered throughout the race. In the end he exaggerates: already booked for a naive foul, he gets a second yellow card for an avoidable simulation and goes to the shower.

Koopmeiners 6.5 – Since he became the owner, Motta no longer deprives himself of it. If not by force: he comes off at half-time with a pain in his side, after a good first half. Dangerous both on inactive ball and in the solutions found for his teammates, he tries but does not find the first goal for Juventus. (From 46′ Fagioli 6 – A chocolate for Vlahovic, who doesn’t discard).

Mbangula 6 – It’s Motta’s surprise move, who goes back to aiming for it and gives up on Yildiz. He moves well, he doesn’t find particularly valuable solutions. (From 78′ Yildiz s..v).

Vlahovic 6 – He has to respond to Thuram and Retegui, but above all manage the UFC match with Jerry Mina. Cold from the spot, good sides. In the second half he looked for a brace, but managed to avoid it: when Scuffet gave him the rebound from Douglas’ shot from outside, it was more complicated to make a mistake than to score. And it’s a mistake that becomes very serious a few minutes later.

Thiago Motta 6 – The unbeaten record becomes just a memory, but it is perhaps the secondary theme of the day. His Juve is solid and also beautiful, until an individual error. However, they only got there 1-0: let alone the responsibilities of the individuals, but in seven matches he scored only ten goals. Four less than Napoli and Milan, six less than Inter: the defense is ok, you can also win with the attack.

Scuffet 6.5 – Penalty awarded to Vlahovic, but he doesn’t manage to stop it. Juventus manages to shoot 8 times on goal and he saves everything that can be saved, even if he doesn’t have to perform real miracles.

Hoe 5.5 – Constantly stimulated from his side, where Juve doesn’t find much opposition to the cross. Great launch for Piccoli which could have been a great opportunity.

Mine 6.5 – Endless duel with Vlahovic with whom he goes to war and in the end closes the attacker many times. Not always though: the Serbian graced him on a couple of occasions, as did Koopmeiners who failed to complete a great opportunity. Good at the aerial game.

Luperto 5.5 – Handball which is one of those unforgivable nonsense in Var time. Vlahovic suffers a lot and always gets to the ball first in the first half. Then it grows and with Mina it withstands the Juventus clash, finishing in crescendo.

Obert 6 – In trouble trying to contain Conceicao, Koopmeiners goes to shoot from the edge of the box after a bad mistake on his exit, then takes another risk on the former Atalanta with a header. At the end he gets blasted again by the Portuguese, who then makes the mistake of looking for a penalty and gets sent off. He hits a sensational post late on that could have transformed his game. He earns a passing mark with a late finish on McKennie which is worth a goal.

Zortea 5.5 – He gets there at the back and tries to put in some crosses, but with alternating precision. Something is suffering at the back, with Juve often crushing the rossoblu in the last 20 meters and comfortably managing to cross.
From 77′ Mutandwa sv

After 5.5 – He and Makoumbou would have the task of filtering in midfield in the first half, at the cost of paying something in the build-up, but this fails and Juve crushes their opponent. Some errors also in ball control
From 77′ Deiola sv

Purple 6 – He tries a Eurogoal, without success. Then a cut cross: in practice he just chases, but it’s not his fault that he is isolated for an hour and tries to bring quality alone.
From 57′ Gaetano 6 – He comes in and immediately inspires Piccoli, then growls in pressing. Effective change.

Makoumbou 5.5 – Too much space given to Juve in the first half. Better with the ball at his feet, like when he launches the counterattack for Piccoli.
From 66′ Marin 7 – He comes in and brings liveliness to the attack. The penalty he takes on is very heavy, on an important stage and close to the 90th minute: he doesn’t bat an eyelid and sends it to the top corner. Glacial.

Augello 6 – Constantly doubling to help Obert with Conceicao and the onrushing Savona. More concerned with containing, he is unable to contribute anything to attack, with the exception of an interesting cross for Piccoli.
From 57′ Luvumbo 6 – Change that brings quality and initiatives to Nicola. It creates apprehension for the Juventus defense.

Small 6 – Quite a difficult afternoon, he almost never sees her for an hour, but he fights. In the only potential opportunity following a pass from Zappa, he was blocked by Kalulu and perhaps could have thought of an assist for the onrushing Viola. In the middle of the “Piccoli zone”, however, he earns the penalty kick which is worth its weight in gold.

Coach Davide Nicola 6.5 – The plan works: for an hour he thinks about defending, then he introduces all the offensive equipment and the move pays off with a Cagliari who create offensive actions for a quarter of an hour and find the equalizer. Golden point.
