Fiorentina and its leaders: the two victories in Serie A in the name of De Gea and Gudmundsson

Fiorentina approaches the break with a smile, thanks to the 2-1 win over Milan which allowed Palladino’s team to celebrate their second victory in the championship, with the same result as the one against Lazio. Two big matches, very different from each other, with a minimum common denominator in the protagonists who decided them.

Both against the Biancocelesti and last night against Milan it was Albert Gudmundsson who scored the decisive goals. And if against Lazio the Icelander did his best to convert two penalties, in the match against the Devil he left the task to a Kean who was eager to score but who ended up making a mistake. Not bad, because a little later, following an assist from the center forward, Gudmundsson would decide the match with a sharp right-footed shot that reconciles with the perfection of his ballistics.

Of course, it probably wouldn’t have been enough without De Gea’s miracles. And if in Fiorentina’s first victory of this Serie A he was already seen as one of the best on the pitch, this time there is absolutely no doubt: the overall MVP award goes to him. De Gea wrote himself into the history of the new reality and of the championship, saving two penalty kicks from two different shooters in the space of a single match. Having entered on tiptoe, accompanied by some doubts about his stability after the sabbatical that followed his farewell to Manchester United, as soon as he played with a minimum of regularity he was able to conquer everyone. And his mark, as well as that of Gudmundsson, is strongly imprinted on last night’s victory. Waiting for a greater quantity of goals from the other main signing of the market, that Moise Kean who has received acclaim everywhere for his sacrificial work but who still has to best calibrate his precision when making conclusions.
