Bad knee knockout for Zapata, Schuurs: “You will come back even stronger than before, Captain”

The most feared news in the Granata house has unfortunately arrived. Here you are the official medical report of Torino regarding the conditions of Duvan Zapatawho this morning underwent instrumental tests to understand the extent of the knee injury suffered during the match at San Siro against Inter: “The instrumental tests to which Duvan Zapata was subjected highlighted a lesion of the anterior cruciate ligament, of the medial meniscus and the lateral meniscus. The entire Torino Football Club affectionately embraces Duvan with the hope of seeing him again as a protagonist on the pitch in the grenade shirt as soon as possible.” With this triple injury, for Zapata – who will blow out 34 candles on April 1st – the season can be considered over.

Zapata stopped in the 80th minute of Inter-Torino (3-2): the Colombian striker touched his left knee after accelerating towards the back in an attempt to gain the upper hand in a duel with Acerbi, but remained on the ground for a few minutes before the medical staff indicated the change. Torino therefore loses its captain, capable of leading the team and capable of scoring 3 goals in 7 league matches and one goal in two matches of the Italian Cup (at Toro since 1st September last year for a grand total of 45 games and 16 goals).

In the meantime, wishes for a speedy recovery are arriving from another long-term injured player from Torino, namely Perr Schuurs (he also suffered an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee, ed): “We are all with you, brother. You will come back even stronger than before, Captain.”
