We have reached the eighth day of the Serie B championship, the last before the international break. The cadetship round opened on Friday, as usual, and after enjoying the unexpected results it continues today. This afternoon they face Mantua and Brescia, two teams separated in the standings by only two points.
How Mantua arrives
Davide Possanzini’s Mantova, after having “killed” sportingly speaking the last Serie C championship, started in an impactful manner as newly promoted teams. The ten points in the first seven days have projected the red and whites into ninth place, the result of an alternation of victories and defeats in the last six days. In the last round, away, the Lombards fell badly at Dino Manuzzi in Cesena; the reaction of pride in the second half was useless, after having gone three goals down in the first half.
How Brescia arrives
Brescia, captained by Rolando Maran, is one of the best teams so far: the three successes in the last four matchdays have launched the Swallows into the top places in the standings. In the last match, the fourth victory in the championship arrived: after a rich first half in which they laid siege to the Cremonese area, even losing the hat-trick, they suffered some headaches in the final, where the guests found the goal of the Pima flag, and then the doubling. The team coached by Maran will want to direct the match straight away; in this statistic it is second only to Cesena for goals scored in the first part of the match.
