Genoa, endless crisis. Gila makes no excuses: “Surrender is not conceivable”

The Genoa is in an endless crisis, not that this was the right match to think about recovering. 5 to 1 defeat against a super Atalanta of the wild ex Retegui (hat-trick), with Alberto Gilardino who had thought more than anything else about trying to contain the Nerazzurri, something that was only partially successful in the first half, which still ended with a goal down.

5 defeats in 6 games: the break must bring a turning point
For the Grifone it is an endless crisis: victory has been missing since last August 24th, 5 defeats in the last 6 matches for Gilardino’s team (one of which was on penalties in the Italian Cup derby). Of course, the number of injured players is long and includes key players: in short, it is difficult to find the spark in these conditions, especially against higher-ranking teams. But the rossoblu will have to, in this break, look for the right measures to tackle the problem, recover whoever they can and then really start from scratch.

Gilardino doesn’t make excuses: “Atalanta super, but surrender is inconceivable”
Grifone coach Alberto Gilardino shows his usual honesty in analyzing the bad defeat, even if in a moment of complete emergency for the rossoblu: “Given that playing against this Atalanta is difficult for us, just think about the match they played in the Champions League in an amazing physical form. In the first half we contained, then in the second Atalanta dominated us in terms of technical and physical qualities. What is not conceivable is the surrender, despite knowing we are playing against a very strong opponent. We are in difficulty, but how I was saying surrender is not conceivable.”
