A victory in the derby for Hellas Verona. Paolo Zanetti’s team won the match against Venezia 2-1. Sparkling start for both sides with the lagoon players taking the lead after two minutes with Oristanio but in the ninth the equalizer was already achieved by Tengstedt. Nine minutes from the end, an own goal by Joronen decided the match.

Zanetti’s satisfaction
At the end of the match Paolo Zanetti commented in the press room: “We were coming off a poor performance which made us angry. This has been a very intense week. Today I saw everyone very well, when you go down after a minute everything came out our character and I saw the team I want. I’m happy for the boys because they deserved it. Winning games in Serie A is difficult and we have already won three and therefore it means that this team has values is the best and obviously we dedicate it to our fans because pushing ourselves to the point of overturning a match like this in this stadium has no equal.”

Di Francesco’s analysis
This is Eusebio Di Francesco’s analysis: “The draw was all for us due to the opportunities we had on both sides, a crackling first half then in the final we lacked attention. We must understand that in this championship we need better management of the match It’s a shame because perhaps a draw would have been fairer, perhaps Verona believed in it more and had more determination.”
