Before Italy, experiences at Standard Liege in Belgium and Ajax in the Netherlands. What do you remember?
“It went well at Standard but the start was difficult, I didn’t speak French and only a little English. However, I played a lot, if I remember correctly, 104 games and scored 18 goals.”
Hard impact at Ajax?
“I joined a team of great technical and human quality. I learned a lot. I gave my best, then Covid arrived which complicated everything.”
In the most difficult moment, Cagliari showed up. How long did it take you to accept?
“Nothing, I was enthusiastic. I was in training camp in Austria with Ajax but it was an easy choice. I was arriving in Italy, in a Serie A team, exactly what I wanted.”
However, relegation came and the transfer to Empoli.
“I came back more mature and full of energy after the European Championship.”
He seems like a good guy.
“I train with a smile, I’m happy with this job, I’ve fulfilled my childhood dream of one day playing in one of the top five European championships
