Maresca takes pressure off his Chelsea: “We cannot compete with City and Arsenal”

“I don’t think we can compete with Manchester City and Arsenal.” Enzo Maresca took some pressure off his Chelsea team in the press conference held today to present the next Premier League match against Nottingham Forest. “Citizens And Gunners they have been working with the same coach for nine and five years. If you want to compete, you need that time, it’s a big difference. The goal is to improve and close the gap step by step, but right now we are not ready. The longer you are together the better,” declared the new coach of the Blues.

After several revolutions, on the pitch and on the bench, this year in the summer Chelsea relied on the young Italian coach to inaugurate a new cycle and the current fourth place in the standings certainly gives us hope. “In the first two months there was a lot of noise around the club, but I hope we can continue on this path. I wasn’t here last year, the only thing I can say is that since I’ve been here I like to be focused. The only thing I can control is the pitch, I can’t control everything else and I don’t care”, explained Maresca.
