Gioia Hellas, regret Venezia: at Bentegodi it ends 2-1, with Joronen’s error decisive

Friday evening was sweet for Hellas Verona and bitter for Veneziathe one that saw the two teams challenge each other at the Bentegodi in the second advance of the seventh matchday of Serie A. The final result was 2-1, with the guests having taken the lead through Oristanio after less than 3 minutes, before, however, Tengstedt’s equalizer at 9′ and the duck, with attached own goal, by Joronen in the 81st minute, which decided the match. A revenge for the former Paolo Zanetti, who defeated his past, while for Di Francesco another knockout arrived with a sudden comeback, which will not allow his team to spend a peaceful break.

The words of Paolo Zanetti.
“We were coming from a difficult moment and we found ourselves immediately behind, that goal could have killed an elephant but we showed our character. We wanted to win this match, I think it was a beautiful derby between two teams who played openly. We were rewarded by the episodes, I have to congratulate my boys.”

The words of Eusebio Di Francesco.
“I don’t like talking about incidents but conceding goals like this is annoying, it’s not the first time we’ve scored goals ourselves. The right result would have been a draw. It’s a shame, we could have been better at managing and more vertical, we created a lot but we weren’t good at taking advantage of the opportunities. Then they found this goal through our naivety. It was our fault alone, they were more aggressive in trying to get the result. We need to improve on this, we were less clear-headed.” .
