Borussia Dortmund will be without Karim Adeyemi And Julien Duranville for several weeks after the injuries suffered in Tuesday’s 7-1 Champions League victory against Celtic, according to the coach Nuri Sahin. The Ruhr valley club achieved their biggest ever European victory in midweek, crushing the Scottish champions with German Adeyemi scoring a hat-trick before withdrawing with a muscle injury and being replaced by 18-year-old Belgian Duranville.
However, both players will be absent until the end of November, missing Saturday’s away match against Union Berlin and seven other matches. “We will be without Karim and Julien for some time. Their return is expected after the international break, in mid-November,” Sahin said in this Friday’s pre-match press conference. The Borussia Dortmund coach then added that Giovanni Reyna, who has been in the pits since last month, will also delay his return after suffering a setback in his recovery.
Borussia Dortmund, currently fifth in the Bundesliga with 10 points and therefore 3 points behind leaders Bayern Munich, is looking for the first pair of consecutive victories in the championship under the guidance of coach Sahin. But they will have to do it without one of their best players.
