Romero can choose between 3 national teams: “It’s a privilege. Mexico? We’ll see in the future”

Luka Romero he says it is a “privilege” to have three nationalities and to be able to choose who to represent. The Spanish striker from Alavés (owned by Milan), at just 19 years old, has finally opened the doors to the Mexican national team, despite having already responded to calls from Argentina (9 appearances in the U20s) and is being followed by Spain: “It’s a privilege to have three nationalities, because they are all three great teams. Now I don’t think about it, I only think about Alavés. I’m a boy and I have the possibility to choose,” he said in an interview with ESPN.

Romero was born in Durango, Mexico, in 2004: his father is Argentine and has lived in Spain almost all his life. At 20, he has already had many experiences: Mallorca, Lazio, Milan, Almería and Alavés: “You don’t know what could happen in the future. Argentina was the first to call me. Thanks to them I met so many colleagues with whom I get along well,” explained Romero.

The player acknowledges having had contact with the managers of Tri to play with the team coached by Javier Aguirre, an old acquaintance of Spanish football: “Yes, I spoke to them. The truth is that this makes me happy but now I’m only thinking about Alavés, then I’ll decide.”
