Lazio still super in Europe: Nice overwhelmed 4-1 in the deluge at the Olimpico

After the 3-0 on debut, another more than convincing performance for the Lazio by Marco Baroni. The Biancocelesti won 4-1 at home against Nice, with goals from Pedro And Zaccagni interspersed with the beautiful double by Castellanos. For the Nice players, however, goal of the temporary 2-1 of the former Sassuolo and Atalanta Boga.

First half
Lazio started very strong, with good liveliness and game ideas. In the 12th and 14th minutes, as evidence of the right approach, two crossbars arrive: one hit by Castellanos with a great header, the other by Vecino with a shot from outside deflected onto the top of the woodwork. The goal, however, is in the air and arrives in the 20th minute: Pedro takes a corner, Patric heads it. The rebound comes back to the feet of the Spaniard who scores the 1-0 with a beautiful left-footed shot. The former Barça player is then the protagonist with the assist for Castellanos: the Argentine sprints to the offside line and beats the innocent French goalkeeper with a dig. However, Nice is alive and with Boga they find the 2-1 goal before the break which keeps the game wide open.

Second half
The second half opens with the substitutions of Baroni, Rovella and Zaccagni for Tchaouna and Dele-Bashiru. The midfielder who has just entered risks a lot for an alleged foul in the penalty area, but the referee lets it go and VAR does not intervene. Technology, however, is the protagonist in the 55th minute, when it awards the 3-1 goal to Castellanos after the referee had canceled it for non-existent offside. Taty is also the protagonist at 4-1, when they win the penalty kick which Captain Zaccagni then converts with personality for the goal that secures the final result and gives Lazio another success with a three-goal difference.
