Guest of the microphones of TeleChiara the number one of Citadel, Andrea Gabrielli he spoke about his team’s moment in Serie B, but not only that. “I can understand the discontent of our fans, because at home they haven’t seen Cittadella win for a long time, but I want to cheer them up: we must not lose heart. Morale must remain high, there are many games to play and we have shown that we do well in moments more problematic”.
The forfeit defeat against Pisa and the Tombolato defeat against Frosinone? It was one of the worst weeks since I’ve been president: we played two games in eight days, we could have scored six points but we ended up at -1, it was a good blow. The defeat at the table was psychologically annoying, now we will go to the Coni Guarantee Board. Honestly, I didn’t expect the first degree sentence to be overturned, we had prepared a very well-written brief which highlighted the truth of the facts: it was a banal oversight which we tried to remedy as soon as possible, supported by the communications that had taken place with the League. We were convinced that there were no conditions to achieve the default defeat, the first in the history of Cittadella, which will remain in the annals if it were to be confirmed. The event was exaggerated, even thinking that we had implemented who knows what clever behavior: even making it a reason for poor sportsmanship causes even more anger.”
Finally Gabrielli returns to talk about the chaos that emerged during the last Lega B assembly: “No championship has a turnover of clubs like Serie B, in which 35% of the teams move up or down in category. There was a disappointment for the aspects linked to television rights and lower income, but it is a situation that was in the air. Now it seems to me that the disagreements are recomposing”.
