Bellanova, the first goal against Atalanta has finally arrived. How does it taste?
“An incredible emotion, especially because it came on a fantastic evening in which we managed to get the three points. I was very keen on this goal, I looked for it for a long time and I had a bit of bad luck on a few occasions this season year. But it’s nice that he arrived in the Champions League, so I’m really happy.”
Atalanta always looks different in Europe. Do you feel comfortable in this context? How much does this victory mean for the continuation of the path in the group?
“Yes, we know that in this phase of the Champions League every match is fundamental. These three points are a nice building block in the standings. We must approach every match with the right mentality and try to maintain the continuity we have in the Champions League also in the league. It’s important keep our concentration high and already from Saturday we have to bring home another three points. It’s good news that we haven’t conceded a goal, finally! As I said, it all depends on concentration and desire. We are a great group and each of us always works hard , we fight for our teammates. By working in training, we will certainly fix what needs to be improved.”
You arrived in the last days of the transfer market and are now more and more often a starter. Do you feel at the center of the project?
“Of course, now I’m finding it less difficult and I’m adapting to the coach’s game and my teammates. I knew there would be difficulties at the beginning, changing the team and the formation, but from day one I tried to work hard. I’m continuing to do it because I want to get back to my best condition and do as well as last year. I can’t wait to continue and give my best.”
