To the microphones of Gazzetta dello Sport, Rafa Benitez spoke about the moment of Inter, Milan and Juventus in view of the second day of the Champions League:
Milan
“Fonseca’s interventions, after the defeat against Liverpool, have produced a change and having Morata is a factor: he brings his ruthless presence in the penalty area and an experience that becomes added value. Today’s Champions League takes away pressure and the Milan knows that it has the chance to recover in front of it – possibly needed -: we are in the second day, we don’t even have the idea of how many points need to be won to qualify.”
Inter
“The international level, highlighted in the draw with Manchester City, risked faltering with the defeat in the derby. But Inzaghi put things back on track, won in Udine, found the goals of Lautaro Martinez again and this time with Red Star he needs to take control of himself completely again. No match, even the least complicated one, can be faced with superficiality: Inter know this well, they will not fall into the trap and will try to confirm that defeat against Inter. Milan was just an empty joke.”
Juventus
“It has defensive solidity, they almost never score, it started with the three goals against PSV, almost with ease, and on Saturday it enjoyed Vlahovic. Some didn’t fit in, some others haven’t exploded yet, but a path has been undertaken new that needs to be developed. Thiago Motta has ideas and seems to me to be in control of the situation. Leipzig is yet another test from which to take notes for the future: if they managed to win, they would add self-esteem and points to the standings which are always useful.”
