Maresca threatens to kill a player in Kuwait: UEFA stops him in the Champions League

A shadow cast on Italian refereeing. The Board of Directors ofAl-Arabia Kuwaiti league club, has reportedly filed a complaint at the Adliya police station against Italian whistleblower Fabio Maresca. The reason that led to this position could be traced back to the match directed by the referee against the Kuwait SCwhere he allegedly made threats to the footballer Khaled Al-Murshed.

According to what was gathered by Daily Factthe person who took charge of the situation was Adnan Mahmoud Abel, a member of the club’s board of directors who explained: “We are going to the Adailiya police station to file a complaint against the Italian referee of today’s match, who refereed the match between Al-Arabi and Kuwait, for threatening the player Khaled Al-Murshed with the phrase “I will kill you”’, the account reads X of the lawyer. The same one who claimed to have “video and evidence” of what happened.

But as revealed by the Corriere dello Sportthe Italian Football Federation and the AIA have not received any document or similar from Kuwait, not even the report that is usually released following a referee’s direction of the match. But UEFA immediately took steps to avoid controversy over Maresca, who was denied the assignment of the Champions League match between PSV and Sporting. He was replaced directly by the Nyon organ with his compatriot Daniele Doveri.
