Juventus will be involved today in the sixth matchday of the championship, at 6pm at Marassi, against Genoa. Thiago Motta, in a press conference on the eve of the match, surprised everyone and has already announced the starting line-up that will face the Griffon: “I have chosen the line-up. Perin, Jonas, captain Danilo, Bremer, Kalulu will play; Beans, McKennie; Yildiz, Koopmeiners, Nico; Vlahovic“.
Motta believes in the group and his team doesn’t feel the anxiety of having to win.
Thiago Motta, in the press conference, appeared very satisfied with his team’s week of work: “This week is much easier because I trust the training. I saw many good things on the pitch from everyone, even those who participated less. We had a complete week and I have a lot more information on the whole group. That’s where the choice starts, from what I see on the pitch.” The Italian-Brazilian coach also spoke about the pressure linked to his team’s results, but ruled out that the Juventus players might feel anxiety: “They always want to win. I also always want to win. But there are many things behind a victory. In the end our goal is to win with our game. I have never felt anxiety in my team. The attitude is the right one and we always want a positive result. Sometimes we get it and sometimes we don’t.”
Douglas Luiz still out. First starter for Rouhi and Danilo.
In the lineup announced on the eve of Genoa-Juventus, the absence of Douglas Luiz among the starters stands out. In a midfield without Locatelli for the first time, Thiago Motta chose Fagioli and McKennie without focusing on the former Aston Villa midfielder. The Italian-Brazilian coach spoke thus of his number 26: “He must continue to do so. Excellent week of work, not everyone can play and whoever is playing now is doing it very well. We will see tomorrow who will start and who will give their contribution during the race”. For Douglas Luiz there could be space in the second half to try to climb the hierarchy in midfield. But if there are those who will have to sit on the bench, there are also those who will start for the first time like Rouhi and Danilo. This will be a great opportunity for both players that they will want to exploit in the best possible way.
