How important is it to have a coach who makes the competition in midfield feel like this?
“Yes, let’s say that this year there are many of us in midfield and we all compete for places every week. Obviously whoever does best during the week is seen by the coach and plays on Sundays and Wednesdays.”
What are the demands on midfield this year compared to last season?

“Yes, certainly there is a lot of competition in the national team too, there are phenomenal players like Frattesi, Tonali, Ricci is doing well. It is very difficult to earn a place, this is my goal and everyone’s goal to secure the place in the national team is to play as much as possible.”
