Chelsea, Sanchez: “I like Maresca’s way of playing. I owe everything to Brighton”

During the interview granted to the club’s official channel, the Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez spoke about Enzo Maresca: “He can adapt to any player with quality and the willingness to commit. But Enzo directs every training session based on the way he wants to play and prepares every match from the first day to the beginning of the week: every single training session for form, for defensive and offensive work, so when we go to play on Saturday and we know exactly what we are doing.

I really like the way he wants to play. I feel comfortable with the ball at my feet and being an aggressive, high-line goalkeeper. I repeat, we train every day in training, so we know what passes we have to make, trying to find the free man with short, medium or long passes. I feel really comfortable doing that.

Brighton? I still have some very good friends who play in the first team. It’s the club that has given me everything since I was 16. The youth sector helped me when I arrived, through loan periods and improving my external life. I owe everything to them. I think their start to the season has been incredible. They have two wins and three draws at the moment, they are unbeaten, so it is a strong team that knows how to play football very well. So we have to go and play it with our best mentality and thinking that we have to win, not taking it for granted.”
