The derby della Lanterna between Genoa and Sampdoria continues to have a tense tail. Yesterday evening, during the match that was then won by Andrea Sottil’s team, the Gradinata Nord had displayed four flags stolen from their city rivals in recent months, provoking the anger of the Blucerchiati supporters who abandoned their seats in the Sud to immediately seek a fight. At the final whistle, the scuffles continued in the areas surrounding the stadium, pairing with those that had occurred, always near the Genoa facility, in the afternoon.
The precedents
It all started with the riots of last May 5th near the headquarters of the driving group of the Nord which was followed by the red and blue blitz that same evening with some flags stolen and then displayed yesterday during the second half. In recent weeks, in addition to some shows of strength by both organized groups, some murals were vandalized under the beating heart of the Genoa fans, an act from which the Sampdoria stands immediately distanced themselves.
Pier dedicated to Vialli vandalized
And today another ugly gesture arrived, this time near the eastern pier dedicated to the memory of Gianluca Vialli where, the online edition of the The 19th Centurysome blue and white scarves were cut.
