Yesterday’s announcement of the arrival of mister Nicola Ragno on the bench of a Brindisi which, in the space of a year, is at risk of falling into the abyss: a disastrous Serie C championship, last year’s, which saw the Apulians not only immediately relegated to Serie D after only one year of playing among the pros, but also find themselves with a heavy penalty of 12 points that is jeopardizing this start to the season. But the coach is confident he can fix the situation, achieving permanence in the category. Which appears to be the first possible objective.
As you can read on brindisireport.itthese are his first words: “I have won 12 championships. This would be the 13th. I want a less beautiful but concrete team, also because I am optimistic even though it is a very difficult challenge: but I would not have accepted, if I was not convinced that I could do it. The first step will be to remove the penalty: we are ready for this. I have experienced these feats at other times, reaching unexpected goals. We must all be good at not getting discouraged”.
He continued: “We need to make the most of it in the short term too. We will face 31 games as if they were 31 finals. I have asked the lads to make themselves available. I will try to adapt them all to their preferred roles. New grafts? We won’t take players just for the sake of taking them“.
And he concludes: “This is a bet that I would like to win. I will give it my all, because I want to win it. On May 5 (the last match of the championship, ed.) I hope to be able to give the first hug to the club”.
