Among the folds of Exor’s half-yearly report there is also a part relating to Juventus. The club – 63% controlled by the holding company owned by the Elkann Agnelli family – reported a loss of 91 million in the period between January and June, which is added to that of the previous six months, that is from July to December 2023, which was 85 million. A total of 176 million which is the third highest negative in Juve’s history, after that of 2021-22 (-239.3 million) and 2020-21 (-209.9 million).
The result is decidedly negative, but with some hope for the near future. Because several expenses have been included that will not be in the budget for next season, plus there were no Champions League prizes and the related earnings in the different matches of the top competition. It is likely that at least 65-70 million will come from the new Champions League plus a drop in salaries (albeit relative) and the sales of various players, with Next Gen pulling the cart of capital gains with Soulé, Huijsen, Iling Jr and Barrenechea above all.
Since 2017, however, Juventus has spent practically 900 millionwithout being able to replicate the results of the previous five years, since the arrival of Conte and with the first years of Allegri. The one who spends more does not always spend better.
