Danish midfielder Lukas Lerager, formerly of Genoa and now playing for Copenhagen in his homeland, he spoke to the notebooks of The 19th Century in view of the Coppa Italia derby between Grifone and city rivals Sampdoria.
During his time in the red and blues, Lerager decided two derbies thanks to his two goalsand remembers them like this: “It was a great disappointment to have played them in an empty stadium. The joy of having brought them home is still a beautiful memory”. Of the goals that earned him the nickname ‘Derby Killer’: “It’s an honour for me to know that the fans still call me that. Who could be next? I would have said Messias, but I’m betting on Vitinha”.
Concluding with some thoughts on his former teammate Criscito, who has taken his coaching license: “He will be a great coach, he has the qualities. As far as I’m concerned I don’t rule him out but we’ll see later”. Final jokes still on the derby: “Sure, I’ll see it. And I’ll cheer for Genoa.”
