Lazio comes back in Florence, Baroni complains and points the finger at the referee

Second defeat in the championship for LazioFiorentina’s desire to go and get the first seasonal success for Baroni’s team was fatal. From a white and blue perspective, however, the referee of the match, Mr. Marcenaro, also played an active role, with his choice to award two penalties to the home team, the second after a personal VAR review and close to the ninetieth minute. A fatal blow.

And to think that the white and blue team, without the injured Castellanos, had also finished the first half in the lead thanks to Gila’s header on a free kick by Tavares. From a cross to a delight, the foul in the area on Dodo that definitively compromised the match of his team was committed by the full-back himself.

Baroni, however, does not agree and in his post-match analysis makes direct reference to the incriminating episodes: “We have good referees but it becomes difficult even for us coaches to propose defensive work when there are situations like non-bad stampings. In the first penalty Guendouzi even lifts his foot. Football belongs to everyone, for people to become fond of it you need a show: I look for aggressive and dynamic football, I hope there are no counter-trend situations”. And he then explained what he said to the referee immediately after the match: “The confrontation between us and them must be calm, direct and fair. I gave my opinion… In my opinion, sometimes the interpretation needs to be corrected, otherwise we need to correct it, using other methods of working on the pitch and in training”.
