Monza, Nesta: “We have always been up to the task, punished by the incidents”

Nesta, what explanation do you give for this defeat? Was there a decline in the second half?

“I think we were in the game in the second half too, while in the first we started very well. Unfortunately we lost a few minutes, we didn’t drop off but unfortunately Monza conceded two goals that were definitely avoidable. That was the difference”

In the last few minutes Monza have conceded many goals, is it due to some drops in concentration?

“In the games there are many lost balls and particular situations, certainly conceding a goal in the final minutes is a problem. There can be many reasons and it is up to us to understand why. The judgment is often conditioned by the result, this game against Bologna was also played well”

Were you surprised by Bianco’s great game, who made his debut from the first minute?

“Not me because I know him well, I was lucky enough to coach him last season in Serie B at Reggiana. I was curious to see him make an impact with Serie A and he was good. In the next games we will also need Pessina, Bondo and Sensi, today we will need Bianco’s”

Were there any wrong choices in the last 16 meters, even as a final pass?

“The final pass is not always easy, especially in games like the one against Bologna. We definitely need to improve from this point of view, also to put our forwards in the best conditions. It takes personality and courage, I like that the players take on responsibilities because there is a coach who supports them”

Did Bologna have more nervous energy than your team?

“I say that in the second half there was a very good approach, I don’t agree from this point of view. For me the incidents made the difference and unfortunately we made some mistakes in our readings. It happened with Fiorentina, with Inter and now also with Bologna. For me we were always up to the situation, we have to find some solutions to avoid some carelessness”
