Germany, Voller sure: “Who after Nagelsmann? The best would be Klopp”

Who could replace, if necessary, Julian Nagelsmann on the bench of Germany after the 2026 World Cup? The sporting director of the German Football Association Rudi Voller he has no doubts: the right profile would be that one Jurgen Klopp.

The person concerned declared this during a broadcast on ZDF speaking about the hypothesis of a farewell of the current coach after the tournament that will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States: “I don’t know what Jurgen will want to do again, but if at some point Nagelsmann were to decide to return to coaching a clubwhether it is a top German or European team makes no difference, then there would be no better way to replace him than with Klopp. If he wants to do it. I appreciate him a lot, he has been abroad for a long time and has had an incredible career so far. – explains Voller – Of course everything will depend on what Julian decides after the end of the next World Cup. But whoever coaches them then will find a well-functioning team that has regained the love of the people”.

After nine seasons at the helm of Liverpool – with whom he won a Premier League, an FA Cup, a Community Shield and two English League Cups as well as a Champions League, a Club World Cup and a European Super Cup – the German coach decided to take a sabbatical in the summer and has not ruled out retiring from football despite still being relatively young.
