Fiorentina-Lazio was an intense match and which experienced a reversal of fortune in the script of a match, the one at lunchtime, in which the Biancoceleste team went ahead – and even ended the first half ahead – only to then see themselves caught up and overtaken by the Viola, pushed by the penalties scored by Gudmundsson, on his debut.
The match was certainly a special occasion also for two players who both started on the pitch as starters and were the object of very different greetings from their former fans when they left for substitution. On one side Danilo Cataldi, who left the capital of Italy in the summer for Tuscany, on the other Gaetano Castrovilli who instead took the opposite pathafter seeing his previous contract with Fiorentina expire. The latter was greeted with loud whistles from the home fans, while the former Lazio captain received unanimous applause, even from the away fans.
Opposite opinions for the two also in our report cards. For Cataldi, a 6.5: “Head against heart, he is called to make the maneuver work in the challenge against Lazio, which he has always loved. He plays like a professor, using a lot of brains”. For Castrovilli, one point less, 5.5: “His return to Florence was not so happy. He is seen little during the match and when he is substituted he is booed, undeservedly, by the Viola fans”.
