Hellas Verona, Zanetti: “We can’t afford to give away goals and then come back”

Paul Zanetticoach of Hellas Verona, after the home defeat against Torino spoke to the microphone of DAZN: “It’s hard to be satisfied after a defeat. My team and I don’t have this mentality. Then the commitment is always demonstrated, even in difficult situations. I take full responsibility for the mistakes, then I’ll talk to the boys because we can’t give these things away to the opponent. We scored when we were numerically inferior, it means we have values, but we need to improve”.

You’re bringing in a lot of young people.
“We are a team that has important absolute values. We have young players who have quality and are free in their heads, with great personality. We are not yet 100% integrated. But we must not lose one aspect: having a humble attitude in the details. We are not the type of team that can win 4-3 against Torino, we must not give anything away because then the games become uphill”.

Is the Tengstedt-Mosquera dualism at risk of becoming a problem?
“It’s not a problem as long as they both score. It means we’re using them in the right way, then they can also play together. In terms of goal numbers, being a team that fights in the lower parts, we have excellent numbers. We need to fix the defensive ones”.
