Mazraoui: “I could never have even dreamed of playing for Man United”

Noussair Mazraouiafter his time at Bayern Munichpassed in the summer to Manchester United and gave an interview to the club’s official website to talk about his adjustment: “I think it’s really tough to come to a new club, with all the responsibility that comes with it. I had trained twice before my debut with Fulham. I knew my teammates from TV and stuff like that, but you don’t really know what it’s like to play with them. I was really proud of myself, but I think Erik ten Hag has already said that.”

Expectations for her are high.
“I can do more because this is just the beginning. I think when I start to really feel comfortable and really settle in 100 percent, it will be even better.”

Which role do you feel most comfortable in?
“Wherever I step on the pitch, I feel comfortable. I know what I have to do because I’ve played in every position before, so that’s really helped me a lot. Every step I’ve taken, that’s allowed me to get to this great club, including my time at Bayern Munich, has helped me. Those moments are when you understand why you work so hard every day. That’s why you get up in the morning, why you do that extra work, why you go to sleep early, why you don’t go out with your friends or why you don’t eat that pizza you’d like to eat the day before the game! But in the end, it’s worth it.”

What made you accept Manchester United?
“I knew that eventually I wanted to play in the Premier League. But to be able to play for this great club is just a dream that I could never have dreamed. So it wasn’t something that I already had in mind, but, as I said, it’s every step that made it possible. Every step for me was already a step of success, a step of pride and a step of knowing that I had taken another step in my career. And now Unired is a big step in that direction.”
