Spezia has presented the third jersey for the current season, which will be worn in the derby against Carrarese, which recalls the colors of the sea of the Golfo dei Poeti and features, on the back of the collar, a tribute to the city with the phrase “splendida perla sul mar” taken from the song ‘O bela Spèsa’, a true city anthem. This is the club’s press release:
“Inspired by the wonderful seabeds of the Gulf of Poets, the new Third Jersey of the Eagles, entitled “Daughter of the Sea”, is a tribute to the unique beauty of the sea of La Spezia, represented by a lively light blue color that meets accurate dark blue details, in a fusion that intends to evoke the seabeds of a unique Gulf, which represents an essential part of the life of each inhabitant of the territory.
The jersey features KOMBAT™ technology, ensuring optimal comfort, quality and attention to detail typical of Kappa® products. The colors and distinctive design make it a unique piece, designed for true fans who want to celebrate their passion for Spezia Calcio and their pride for the city.
On the back of the collar, the homage to the Gulf of La Spezia, with the words “Splendid pearl on the sea”, taken from the song “O bella Spezia”, composed and dedicated to the city by maestro Eugenio Giovando around the 1960s and for years a fixed point in the tradition of values of the La Spezia fans.
Furthermore, the famous ’44 Scudetto, which appears in the centre in a frontal position, is a must to highlight the strong bond with its history, while on the inside of the collar there is space for the famous words of Paolo Ponzo, “Every footballer who wears this shirt must feel on one hand honoured, on the other strongly responsible for what he represents.“, taken from the book “Santa Domenica” by A. Napoletano, which for many championships have accompanied Spezia in all the stadiums in Italy”.
