A case that ended up on everyone’s lips and that went viral on the web could only lead to a firm and irrevocable decision. The former player and current manager of San Lorenzo, Nestor Ortigozawas reported last August by his ex-partner, Lucía Cassiau, mother of his two children, for gender violencewhile they had been going through a difficult separation for several months.
After some news was released on Wednesday evening videos showing the woman being abusedthe management San Lorenzo released a statement calling for his resignation: “His actions do not represent the values that our institution represents,” said the Argentine club’s top brass. Ortigoza had already been sentenced to two years and two months in prison for coercive threats in October 2022.

“Following the publicly known facts that link him to situations of gender violence, the official majority bloc of the Board of Directors of San Lorenzo has decided to request that Néstor Ezequiel Ortigoza resign from his position, since his actions do not represent the values that our institution represents.
