Protest in Rome. The Curva Sud: “We will be out for 30 minutes against Udinese”

The climate of tension continues at Roma following the owners’ decision to fire Daniele De Rossi. On Sunday, league leaders Udinese will arrive at the Stadio Olimpico, but the Curva Sud, for the first time with Ivan Juric on the Giallorossi bench, has decided to stay outside the stadium for the first half hour of the match: “The time has come to make our voices heard. The Curva Sud invites all fans from all sectors to participate in the protest, which will see the Curva Sud itself stay outside the stadium for the first half hour of the match,” reads the statement.

Today, the former Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini expressed himself as follows on the decision of the Roma management to sack De Rossi: “Why was he fired? Blind arrogance, that’s all I can think. And I’m not referring to the owners. There are employees who think they are managers and who have been contaminated by a very dangerous virus, a delusion of omnipotence that makes them think they are authorized to do anything.”

Then in another passage he added: “In addition to being a human ordeal, it is a technical ordeal because the team was getting very close to a model that would allow them to get results. In Genoa in the first half they almost reached tactical perfection. There is room for improvement, but to interrupt a relationship so abruptly is truly an abominable thing, even from a professional point of view”
