Stephen Impallomeniin his speech at Maracanã on TMW Radiospoke about Roma’s dismissal of Daniele De Rossi, with the Giallorossi club replacing him with former Torino player Ivan Juric:
How do you comment on De Rossi’s dismissal?
“Something was in the air. I think the dismissal is a bad and disappointing thing. It’s a contradiction. If you renew a contract for three years and for a high sum and then after four games, despite an unpromising start, you have to believe in it. I discuss the brutal ways in which you break relationships. If you behave like this, it’s your calling card. You show an ambitious face, important investments, but then there’s no organization, there’s no stability. I think that from today on an environmental level it will no longer be the same. Now it will be tough. From today for the ownership it will no longer be the same. Now the wind is no longer blowing and I don’t know what will happen. I don’t understand the point of sending De Rossi away and moving on to Juric, to whom I wish him well anyway. But if I were a Roma player I would ask myself ‘What’s happening?’. With the results of the last few years, excluding the two European finals, what are they? The mistakes are upstream, not in the coaches”.
