During a long interview given to the microphones of ‘CBS’, the former Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero expressed his desire to return to Juventus in a different guise: “My return to Juventus would be a truly wonderful story to tell. What happened between me and Juventus in that period is a unique experience, unprecedented for a player. Becoming a Juventus legend, even playing in Serie B, and then coming back and winning again. 19 years is a really long time.”
Del Piero then declared that he has no intention of pursuing a career as a coach: “I really miss the past, I wish I could go back in time. I am satisfied with what I am doing today and I have no regrets. I have obtained the coaching license, even if at the moment I would not like to take on this role.”
Finally, Del Piero also spoke about the only regret in his career: “My only regret in my career is losing the European Championship final. My main goal was to win trophies, although I appreciated personal achievements. However, if you asked me if I was happy to score three goals and draw three games, I would say no.”
