Cagliari, Nicola: “It’s not enough to run and stop, we need to improve and go and make things happen”

The Cagliari coach, David Nicholaspresented the next challenge against Empoli in a press conference today, downplaying his team’s offensive problems: “We must not become frenetic, but eager to improve and make things happen. In Italy we tend to always look at what doesn’t work. Let’s remember that we started a discussion, and the boys know it. The perspective must not lead to forgetting the objective. When you play you must always maintain high concentration and have balance. Expectations must be balanced. I am convinced that if the environment has confidence, the boys will play with serenity, enthusiasm and conviction. It is not enough to run and stop. You have to do it with judgment”.

How is Gaetano? Could there be a chance for Pavoletti or Lapadula?
“Absolutely yes. Everyone is available. We need to grow especially as a team. Tomorrow I could make different choices. Pavo and Lapadula are two important athletes, but I have to look at what I think is most productive.”

Only 1 goal in 4 games. Coincidence?
“It’s a problem we can overcome by trying to get more players to score, even non-attackers. Coincidence? I don’t like to talk about this. I focus on the fact that chances are created, but we need to improve on the coolness in converting them and on the quality. But I’m convinced we’ll do it.”
