Yildiz as Del Piero, Juve thrashes PSV. But Motta is not entirely satisfied

Excellent debut for Juventus in the Champions League. In Turin against PSV Eindhoven the black and white team won 3-1, putting the Dutch matter to rest in the first 52 minutes thanks to goals from Yildiz, McKennie and Nico Gonzalez. I’m happy for the very important result for us, now we have to recover for the next league match and continue working as we are doing”, said Thiago Motta in the post-match.

The goal that unlocked the match was very beautiful, a curling shot by Kenan Yildiz who on the day of his Champions League debut with the number 10 on his back scored a Del Piero-style goal, also becoming the youngest Juventus player to score in this competition. A performance ‘blessed’ by Del Piero himself in the post-match “I’m very happy for him, he played a great game and took the responsibility of wearing the number 10 on his shoulders”.

Returning to the match, Motta showed satisfaction with the result after the match but also said that Juventus did not always interpret the match in the right way: “We suffered a lot from PSV’s game, we are sure that we can do better in the possession phase. At this level, to compete against teams that like possession, you need to raise the level throughout the game, not just at times.”
