Ricci’s report cards – He is not the handsome Samuele seen with Italy. He pays the price for his tiredness

After two excellent performances with the national team, Samuele Ricci gave an ordinary performance in Torino-Lecce 0-0. “His the first chance, on a brush stroke in the area by Ilic. For the rest, he stays in the middle of the field to battle”, we read in the commentary of TMW. “He is not the beautiful blue Samuele. He is a bit of a man of order and a bit of a runner: he doesn’t make an impact, but he doesn’t suffer. He is the most lucid of the Granata midfield”, writes the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.

Ricci’s ratings range between 6 and 6.5. This is TuttoSport’s opinion: “Watching him in the warm-up, you can see how he has a burning desire to make the enthusiasm he has accumulated playing and winning with Italy available to his teammates. His momentum is however slowed by the context: very difficult to ignite, in the sleepy and not very proactive Toro seen yesterday. Having said that, the Italian is still one of the few to maintain a good intensity from start to finish.
Thus ‘La Stampa’: “He pays for the Azzurri’s tiredness, but he is the most brilliant. He immediately looks for a screaming goal, tries to jump the opposing line and gives a hand to the defense. With the exit of Linetty he becomes the director and manages to raise the rhythm of the Toro”.
