Palladino’s report cards – Only 5.5. Not the start that Florence was hoping for

After three consecutive draws, Raffaele Palladino’s Fiorentina suffered their first defeat in the championship yesterday in Bergamo. The double advantage for the Viola team was not enough, with Atalanta eventually winning 3-2. “Viola who goes in fits and starts and never manages to give continuity. He also knows that he must speed up the process of integration, something more is needed”, we read in the commentary of TMW. “Try not to disown the 3-4-2-1 by masking it and looking for more compactness: in difficulty, the substitutions do not change much”, writes the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’.

Everyone gave Raffaele Palladino the same grade: 5.5 on the report card. This is the judgment of the ‘Corriere dello Sport’: “This time it changes, only one attacking midfielder behind Kean. It’s a shame that the defense dances too much and in the second half risks a defeat”. “He pays for his mistakes in defense and a lack of verve in the second half”, adds ‘TuttoSport’ on newsstands this morning.
Thus ‘FirenzeViola.it’: “A surprise lineup with the debuts of Cataldi and Gosens and with Beltran alongside Colpani in support of Kean. The start is promising but his team falls at Monza’s first attempt, with Djuric, and indeed risks collapse with Maldini who doubles and comes close to 3-0 after about forty minutes. Kean’s goal that sends everyone to the locker rooms becomes providential. After ten minutes he recalls Mandragora and Beltran for Bove and Kouamè, then it’s the turn of Adli and Ikonè for Cataldi and Colpani. The last change is in defense but the entry of Quarta for Comuzzo is more of an offensive move rewarded by Gosens’ equalizer at the end. At the first break his team, excluding qualification for the Conference, still has to fish out their first victory. Not the start that everyone was hoping for”.
