Fonseca has Liverpool and the derby ahead of him. The storm has passed (at least for now)

“All the games have to be Theo, Leao, Alvaro and team nights. We talk a lot about individuals when for me the most important thing is to play as a team. Obviously when we are strong as a team it is easier for individuals to do things.” Paulo Fonseca’s words make it clear that the storm has passed, at least the one concerning the two “mutineers” (if we can use this word) of the past few weeks. The victory against Venezia was the best response to two stormy weeks, but the situation still does not appear completely calm. Because tomorrow there is Liverpool in the Champions League, in a triple-header match.

But then there will be Inter. Another decidedly complicated match and one that perhaps counts even more than the one with the Reds. Because after the defeats of the past years it would be time to reverse the trend, also because the standings are not that complicated, considering also the draw against the Nerazzurri’s Monza. So paradoxically the derby could serve to even the score.

At that point, Fonseca would perhaps have a few more wild cards to play. Because if it is true that today is the start of a long competition, this is also a championship within what was previously a six-game commitment that, at times, could be managed. Here, however, everything is different and every game counts a lot for the passage to the next round.
