Attilio Tesser speak to Tuttocagliari.net anticipating Sunday’s challenge between Cagliari And Naples: “Cagliari, in search of a positive result in front of their fans, will try to show off a performance full of intensity and aggression, taking advantage of their technical and tactical qualities. For Napoli, the match will be a further test of growth, in the hope of confirming the positive trend shown in recent days and, therefore, of giving continuity to their results. However, playing in Cagliari is never a simple or banal thing for anyone”.
In which department has Cagliari shown the most interesting things and where, instead, can it still definitely improve?
“It seems to me that Davide Nicola has already given a clear and recognizable technical-tactical identity: Cagliari is a compact team, with character. And these are extremely important virtues for teams whose primary objective is to maintain their position in the category. I repeat, as a primary objective: then we will see if the rossoblù will be able to achieve something more during the course of the game. But, in general, the ability to be a team is a fundamental prerequisite”.
Ranieri and Nicola are two coaches who in some ways resemble each other or, in your opinion, should they be considered substantially different?
“I think they represent two different ‘souls’. Ranieri embodies the experience, the calmness, the thoughtfulness of the experienced coach; Nicola opposes his youthful exuberance, his desire to always be enterprising and aggressive. Then on a technical-tactical level I don’t allow myself to judge the two colleagues: I simply limit myself to highlighting Ranieri’s pragmatism and Davide Nicola’s enthusiasm”.
