Francesco Tomei, Picerno coach, spoke on the eve of the clash on the Catania pitch: “I hope that against Catania there will be progress. It will be a tough match, against one of the best equipped teams, perhaps the best equipped in the championship, in a very hot stadium that will be a stimulus for us. I know that the road is long, we will try to approach the match with the right mindset.
A top-level challenge? I absolutely disagree. We are a small reality where we work hard, we try to compete but we know that there are teams with a reputation and a top structure and with players of a superior category. It is not a top-level match: we are at the beginning, but I hope it will be a hard-fought match. We will have to raise the level, the bar because they are a great team.
Catania’s strong point? It is a team yet to be discovered, it has important individuals and they too – like everyone – need to get used to it, even if the values of the coach, the squad and the team are indisputable”.
