Borussia Dortmund, Reyna’s groin problem: new stop for the American

There is no peace for John Reyna. The American midfielder, one of the greatest promises of star-spangled soccer, has been slowed down in recent years by several injuries, the last one very recent: called up for the national team commitments, the Borussia Dortmund player was forced to return to Germany due to a strained left groin, which will keep him out of action for a few weeks.

Sahin’s team will return to the field tomorrow against Heidenheim in the third round of the Bundesliga and the coach also spoke in a press conference about the conditions of the 2002-born player: “He won’t play, he got injured with the national team. He came back immediately and I found him very sad. Unfortunately it will take a few weeks, then I hope he can continue on the good path he had taken”. Reyna has played only nine minutes this season, coming on as a substitute in his team’s victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 24; he then remained on the bench against Werder Bremen and responded to the call-up from the USA.
