On the occasion of the event organized by Sky Sports for the launch of the new super Champions League, the former footballer Giancarlo Marocchi wanted to make a personal prediction on the path that Italian women will take in Europe. These are his statements:
“I don’t think Inter, Juve and Milan will have any problems in getting through the round, also aiming to be among the top eight. Because I only see two that are out of category, City and then Real, then many strong teams like Inter, potentially Juve, potentially Milan. Anyway, those who are lazy in the Milan league, as soon as the Champions League music comes on I’m ready to bet my euro, there’s no doubt about it. Atalanta and Bologna are a big question mark, but with this formula I continue to be very optimistic because only 12 will stay at home, so I’m confident”.
However, it will be a Milan without Ismael Bennacer. The tests that the Algerian midfielder born in ’97 underwent have in fact confirmed what the fans were hoping for, namely a severe lesion of the medial gemellus muscle of the right calf. This is the official note from Milan with the medical report: “The tests that Bennacer underwent today have confirmed a severe lesion of the medial gemellus muscle of the right calf. A specialist reassessment will be carried out in a week in order to define the best treatment for full functional recovery”. Therefore, next week the midfielder, injured in training with Algeria, will be reassessed by the Rossoneri medical staff and will decide with the club whether to opt for conservative therapy or to proceed immediately with an operation.
