Lazio, Lotito: “There is no Provedel case, both he and Mandas are valuable goalkeepers”

Claudio Lotitopresident of Lazio, answered questions posed by journalists present as he left the Senate. Here is what was reported by Lalaziosiamonoi.it: “We have given the possibility of being able to subscribe to season tickets at very low prices, in some cases they are 10/12 euros, we have reopened them three times. People cannot complain also because in other important places the cost is high. Curve at 40 euros? They could have bought the season ticket at this low cost made on purpose to encourage people to come to the stadium. New stadium? It is not a question of being close or far from the project. We are preparing all the appropriate and suitable documentation to make people understand the importance of this choice for Rome in favor of Lazio. The stadium makes sense if it revives what was the initial direction of its construction. We are doing an important work because we want to safeguard the architectural quality of the stadium trying to adapt it to what are the actual current needs. Objectives to be achieved with Baroni? Objectives are not set, they are achieved and to achieve them you need to set up a competitive team and have an organization that works. We must all row in the same direction because, since football is a team game, no one other than the team itself can win anything, neither the president, nor the coach nor the individual player. We must all work and it seems to me that we are creating the conditions for this to happen.

“Provedel case? There is no case. We have two goalkeepers in the team; him and Mandas who have shown all their value so we have never created a problem for either of them. Lazio certainly needed a renewal in terms of organization and also of the team. We were one of the oldest teams not only in the Italian championship but also in the European one and now we are making it a younger team. Lazio needed a review of the people who took to the field, not only based on age but also on the potential to reach important goals. It was essential to create a united, strong, humble, determined group, with competitive ferocity and hunger that only people who consider Lazio as a point of arrival and not like someone else who considers it a starting point can be part of. Making concrete examples, Lazio did not go to the Champions League last year, why? Because they lost against teams of their caliber such as: Udinese, Lecce, Salernitana, Genoa and Verona simply because there was a drop in concentration and spirit of the group. We want these declines to never happen again. If there is something that doesn’t work, it is changed, that’s why the interpreters have been changed. We don’t go after names but rather people who are focused on reaching the goal and who give everything for the shirt. The club must make all the various structures available to the group and above all the possibility of creating a united and compact group, then it’s up to them who take to the field to make it happen and translate it into results”.
