Lorenzo Colombo he gave an interview to the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’. A goal in the first three days of the championship, the 2002-born striker currently on loan at Empoli is owned by Milan, the club with which he spent the pre-season also taking part in the American tour: “I shouldn’t have even left with Milan, Empoli were already in the mix. I played freely and I had fun. And I saw up close the best striker of our time: Erling Haaland. He has a kind of aura about him, when he gets the ball you feel like he’s going to score soon. He seems like a robot”.
At Empoli Colombo found the continuity he was looking for. And at the end of the season the Tuscan club has the option to buy him out for seven million euros: “We started well, but the hardest thing is to continue when the ball is hottest. I started like this in Monza too and then it didn’t end in the best way. Empoli is a revenge for me, an opportunity to show myself that I understood the mistakes. I chose them because I saw that they were really convinced. I needed to feel important again”.
And about his childhood idol, this is Colombo’s answer: “Cristiano Ronaldo. I was always fascinated by the fact that his name was on the scoresheet for every decisive match.”
