Former goalkeeper Gennaro Iezzo was interviewed by Mars Radio in view of the confrontation between his two former teams when he played as Cagliari and Napoli.
His reflections begin when he gave up playing in Serie A for the love of the blue jersey of the Neapolitans: “When you wear this shirt and feel the passion, choices that for some may be difficult become easy. For me it was simple”.
Iezzo continues and concludes: “I have always supported the Azzurri team and the chance to play for the Neapolitans was a great opportunity. Edy Reja called me and we talked about it, even though Cagliari was fighting for completely different objectives. Cagliari-Napoli? The Sardinians play good football, they have very fast players and move the ball well: Napoli must put in a great performance to bring home an important result, because that is the only way they can win. We are all curious to see the new signings: who knows if they will play. Without cups, Conte can dedicate the whole week to preparing for the Sunday matches”.
