Good first, bad second: how Filip Kostic’s adventure at Juve went

Juventus has managed to place another surplus: since yesterday Philip Kostic is in fact virtually a new Fenerbahce player. The Serbian full-back has chosen to join mister Mourinho in Istanbul, Turkey, after being very close to Fiorentina on the last day of negotiations in Italy. In the last few hours he has thus emptied his locker at Continassa and left Turin, given that today the medical visits and the signing of the contract are scheduled.

The numbers at Juventus
Having arrived at Juve in August 2022 for almost 15 million euros, a significant offer that allowed the Bianconeri to overcome competition from Inter, the 1992-born player only managed to leave his mark at times. He had two seasons in Italy, sometimes as a midfielder and sometimes as an attacking winger, but the first was definitely better than the second: if we count 33 appearances and 4 assists in 2023-2024, 2022-2023 saw him collect 54 games with 3 goals and 11 assists. Kostic has only added one Coppa Italia to his trophy cabinet thanks to Juve (2023-2024).

The details
The deal will be concluded on loan with an option to buy in favour of the Turkish club. According to what was gathered by TMWthe redemption of Kostic will be expected to be around 5-6 million euros for the loan. The transfer, even if temporary, still brings a breath of fresh air to the coffers of the Old Lady: the player’s salary will in fact be paid entirely by Fenerbaçe. Where in Turin it is hoped that Kostic will find himself well, perhaps to the point of remaining in the future.
